Track of the Week - 5 April 2020
Second week of lockdown and there's been a lot of looking out of the window.
The back windows look out over the garden. This window is the one for birds (house sparrows and woodpigeons are the most regular visitors) and a squirrel (grey) who is nesting in the top of our silver birch tree.
The front of the house over looks a 'village centre' so has the windows for cars, looking at the queue for the shop (only four people at time of writing) and dogs (three to half past in the afternoon is an especially good time, a couple of dachshunds are usually in attendance - although there is one outside now, a long-haired version by the look of it.)
Billy J Kramer (born William Ashton) was actually looking into a window (I can only assume The Dakotas were with him) but it'll do for this week. From A Window was written by Paul McCartney, produced by George Martin and was a 1964 number ten.
(This actually marked the start of the Kramer's commercial decline, coming after four straight top four singles and only one more of his singles (with or without The Dakotas) would reach the charts.) (Lot of brackets this week.)
It is absolutely of its time.
