Moskow - Heat-House

Track of the Week - 18 July 2021

There's been some terrible storms in Europe this week causing huge damage and loss of life. So it seems wrong to complain about the fact that it's pretty hot round our way at the minute. But that's all I've got.

As it's been really difficult to cool the house down and get a decent night's sleep (I know, poor me) I've chosen Heat-House.

I'd always thought the group were called Moskow Heat but they seem to be billed as Moskow. They were a local band, one of the first I saw live as they supported the Fall in March 1982 at Swindon's Brunel Rooms.

Someone who'd been to our school (a couple of years above I think) and possibly lived quite locally was in the band so it was quite the thing to know someone who'd put a record out. I know I bought it but I can't put my hands on it right now to solve the name question.

Heat-House is one of those post-punk/proto-goth 'oh no, nuclear war will kill us all' songs. There were a lot of them in the early 80s. This is from 1982. It might be 30 seconds too long but is decent.
