Track of the Week - 21 November 2021
Not really about pins but I needed a needles song this week as I've had my flu jab and coronavirus booster.
Although not the original, that was Jackie De Shannon's version in 1963, I've gone with The Searchers version of Needles and Pins from the following year. It was the Merseybeat group's second of three number ones.
The song is a bit of a pop staple and was a seventies hit for Smokie and has also been covered by the likes of the Ramones and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.
One question though - why needles and pins? Nobody calls it needles and pins. It's pins and needles.
