Track of the Week - 19 December 2021
I lost a filling this week. (Yes, it's been a quiet week.) A big one too, almost one side of a tooth. So big that I felt I had to weigh it and was disappointed that it didn't register on the kitchen scales.
Thankfully I'm not getting any pain so no need for any emergency treatment even if the gap is the perfect size for pieces of Branston Pickle (small chunk) to get stuck in the hole. I'll have to get it sorted out at some point and that means a new filling which will likely mean an amalgam that probably contains mercury.
That was a convoluted way of arriving at Mercury by the semi-legendary Wedding Present for this week's selection. It's from their 1996 six-track recording Mini (there's some confusion as to whether it's a single or an album. (Wikipedia call it an EP.)
While it has some interesting changes of pace might it not be up there with their very best work - but that is a high bar.
