The Fall: Wrong Place, Right Time

Track of the Week - 8 May 2022

A few weeks ago I wrote about some confusion around a volunteering session. There was some more confusion this week although of a different kind.

We'd been told that the location for the session had moved due to broken toilets at the usual one (nothing to do with me) so I made my way to the rearranged venue at the usual time. But when I got there I was told it had moved back to the original place and its now mended toilets. I was in the wrong place at the right time.

So surely no better choice for this week than The Fall's Wrong Place, Right Time from the 1988 album I Am Kurious Oranj. The album is a mix of studio recordings and tracks recorded during performances of the ballet 'I Am Curious, Orange' co-written with Michael Clark & Company.

It's an underrated album as far as I'm concerned and this track, with Steve Hanley's battering, brilliant bass guitar to the fore. is a belter.
