After last week's water incident we've had rather a large fan installed to dry the remaining damp areas.
It needs to run all day so the noise of the motor is the soundtrack to our lives at Tea at Johnny's Towers right now.
The Dickies were a big part of the soundtrack of my mid-teenage years. Probably my first favourite band, their (seemingly) 100mph songs completely at odds with everything else I was hearing at the time.
I didn't ever write them any fan mail but people must have done, hence this song. A track on the California punks' 1979 album Dawn of the Dickies, it was a single release the following year but it only reached number 57.
It's great - I'm going to have to listen to the album again now.
