Tea at Johnny's Towers temporarily located to south Wales for a few days last week. One of the things we managed to do, despite the poor weather at times, was visit the coastal town of New Quay.
We had an excellent lunch at the Blue Bell and headed down to the harbour where bottlenose dolphins were being spotted not too far from the shore. We're pretty sure they were dolphins but they do get porpoises round there too apparently.
So I can choose Porpoise Song from The Monkees. A 1968 single it's more well known from their psychedelic film of the same year, Head. Panned at the time by the critics it's now falling into 'cult classic' territory.
Their career never reached the same heights after the film and Peter Tork left the band the following year.
This song, written by the Gerry Goffin and Carole King partnership, is great and certainly needs a wider audience.
